Some good doctors but hard to get past the very unhelpful reception staff. Love to know who looks after the repeat prescriptions, they keep going missing,
Utterly disgusted. My Son was discharged from hospital we were told he needs a follow up with gp within 48 hours to make sure his breathing is ok, if not off we go to hospital again. Phoned up Day after discharge to be told no appointments for, call back at 8 am. Called at 8am Following day no appointments, was told by receptionist if I feel he really needs to see a doctor we will have to do the sit and wait appointments at 11. Politely informed her it's not a case of if I feel he need an appointment, the hospital have said he has to be checked. Last time he has this issue we again struggled getting him an appointment ended up going straight to a&he who were appalled we hadn't been able to see a gp. We will be moving to a new surgery.
Just phoned to make my daughter in law an appointment.Phoned at 8am , got through to a very unfriendly (girl) woman?Who had absolutely no personality or anything friendly about herself (on the phone)Was told "next appointment is Friday 3.45" (Two days away) when I asked if there maybe any appointments open later today, this girl said "I don't know, how are we meant to know that?" When I mentioned that her attitude was quite rude she said " pardon? Look, do you want the appointment or not?" I did take the appointment and will be going along with my daughter in law to take a look at this person and hopefully advise my daughter in law to join my practice , where they are all wonderful and you can get a choice of appointments if you pop in or phone early.I phoned dead on 8am... God knows what this person's attitude will be like by the time she goes home !! Disgraceful!!!
I was told after my blood tests were sent back by receptionist that I was all clear and nothing to worry about, she looked. I asked do I need to see a doctor and was told no and the phone was put down. I rang back asked to see another doctor who sent me to the hospital and found Ive a clot on my lung. If I had not followed this through I could have died despicable that a receptionist has this power
I would like to praise the team at the Ringmead practice. I have been quite poorly recently and rang the practice to see if I could get a late appointment.It was 6pm and the doctor said if I could get to the practice by 6.30pm he would wait for me. On arrival the doctor was extremely pleasant and provided me with the appropriate prescription. The service I received was spot on and I can't thank the doctor enough for seeing me at such short notice. I believe the practice has always provide a great service to my family and I when required. An excellent practice.
